Provincetown International Film Festival and Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater are proud to present the 4th Annual Filmmaker Takeover
- a Juried Homegrown Shorts Festival, with a sneak peek at a feature work in progress

Illuminacion
By Susan Wilson and Rebecca Strauss

This short film draws viewers into the spectacular
Mexican holiday known as Dia de los Muertos. It melds a
soundtrack developed from field recordings with a stunning
photographic slide show shot in San Miguel De Allende and
Patzcuaro.

Susan Wilson, Artistic Director of Melodic Vision, has
exhibited her artwork in dozens of shows and gained
national recognition for her photographic images.

Rebecca Strauss, Music Director of Melodic Vision, is known
as a fine violist and violinist. She has played with the Boston
Ballet Orchestra, the Boston Lyric Opera and the New
England String Ensemble.

Baby

This ‘day in the life” of a couple of High School friends sheds
light on the complexities of navigating life for two young
men.

Nicholas Verdi is a 17 year old junior at Nauset Regional
High School. Beginning at age 4 he has pursued his love of
film. BABY has been conceived, written and directed during
the last year.

Detour
By Victor Lazaro

A visual poem embracing images of nature. Following the
sole path of a girl journeying through the woods, the film
captures the essence of Cape Cod’s unique natural universe.

Victor Lazaro has worked on numerous feature films and is
currently working on a short film in New York City. He is the
co-founder of AVtv Creations blending the arts of film and
dance.

Spirit of Bitterness
By Eli Powers

A young woman must journey far into the depths of her own
mind as she struggles to decipher her cryptic dreams.

Having graduated from Nauset Regional High School last
spring, Eli Powers currently majors in Filmmaking at Drexel
University. This film is the second installment of the XYZ
trilogy, following The Portal.

Amid
By Joseph Fish

This short film encompasses the strife of the modern plot.
There are situations and there ARE characters. This film is a
metaphor that will leave audiences of all ages wondering.

Joseph Fish lives on Cape Cod and has been his entire life.
He attends Cape Cod Community College and is currently a
freshman. He also works at Phoenix Fruits in Orleans.

Jen Bradley: Views of a Passionate Painter
Justin Freed

Jen Bradley has been drawing gorillas and painting
images derived from those drawings for 16 years. The
film chronicles her process and connection to these fellow
creatures and their existential plight.

Justin Freed has been photographing since his teen years.
He is now 75. His work has been exhibited in Provincetown,
Brookline and Sarasota. This is first foray into the medium of
film.

The Fred and Bob Show

Fred and Bob are two chickens immersed in modern life.
They invite us into their home to demonstrate the best way
to make chicken soup and then provide their own iconic
review of the Oscars.

Travis Magee has been working in New York City as a dancer
and photographer for four years. He has recently begun to
explore other media and performance styles – Fred and Bob
are his first exploration into the minds of chickens.

Painting Provincetown

The annual Creative Convergence brings together a dozen
or so plein air painters at various locations throughout
the New England. This film chronicles the group’s stay in
Provincetown and explores their friendship.

John Goward is a producer, director, editor, sometimes
videographer and music composer of documentary videos
for organizations including Habitat for Humanity and the
Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce.

The Hunted
By Steven D. Lyons

Stephen D. Lyons makes his directorial film debut with The
Hunted, a sexual thriller about a husband who becomes
unhnged after being forced to witness one too many of his
wife’s affairs.

Seven D. Lyons has been known as a screenwriter to watch
in the LA film community and encouraged to direct after
serving as a ghost writer for several highly successful
independent features.

5:45PM
Waves
By Emily Harrold

In an attempt to recreate the past, Norah Winslow returns to
her home on Cape Cod. She hopes to find refuge in the old
house, old job and old boyfriend. But she learns that things
grow old for a reason.

Since being accepted to New York University’s Tisch School
of the Arts, Emily Harrold has worked on numerous student
and independent films, serving as director and producer.
