The Wellfleet art community is an important part of the cultural environment and ambience of the village. More than 20 established galleries show a wide and impressive range of art. These galleries not only showcase local artists but also exhibit nationally and internationally known artists. Each gallery has its own unique personality. Many galleries are artist owned and visitors can enjoy watching them create art.
You can spend a wonderful day enjoying the works of hundreds of artists exhibiting ceramics, paintings, original prints, jewelry, glass, sculpture, photography, fiber art, and unique furniture.
Gallery openings on Saturday evenings, in season, are a popular social event in Wellfleet. Walk from gallery to gallery on a summer evening view the art and meet the artists.
Most galleries are open daily from mid-May to mid-October. Some are open year round. Pick up a Gallery and Restaurant Walking Map from any of the galleries, lodgings or restaurants.
