My husband and I look for simple, comfortable, well cared-for places that are near great walking, biking, canoeing, swimming, a good fish market and vegetable stand-- plus affordability. Dunecrest is all this and more. Attached to the owners' house, Dunecrest is a comfortable one bedroom apartment with a living area, kitchen, separate bedroom and bath with shower. When we stayed in May 2009 the apartment was in great condition. Both the manager and owner are fine people who made us feel at home. Even though Dunecrest is not a separate building, we had plenty of privacy. There is a shaded back deck but during cool pollen season we spent our time biking, hiking and wandering the beach. Dunecrest is ideally located. Local biking is wonderful and there is access to the Cape Cod Rail Trail without getting on Route 6. Wellfleet beaches are in walking distance and town is a short drive or bike ride away. We had a great time. Bring linens and food and leave your worries behind!
