Wellfleet in the Fall

Fall‘s delights is perhaps Wellfleet’s best-kept secret.

FALL IS THE BEST TIME TO DISCOVER WELLFLEET
In early Fall the waters and beaches are warm and inviting. Sailing, sunbathing and summer activities continue –without the crowds and long lines of July and August.
Bikers and kayakers enjoy Fall’s cooler days and abundant sunshine and changing colors.
October brings Wellfleet’s renowned “Oysterfest” a 3-day celebration which attracts tens of thousands of visitors. Main Street closes down and giant tents go up behind Town Hall. Shuttle buses bring visitors to and from the many booths and events.
Outer Cape towns and organizations sponsor special Fall week-ends, including Eastham’s Windmill Week-end, the Fall into Arts Festival featuring local artists both known and undiscovered, and Thanksgiving celebrations which replicate traditional local foods and history.
For many Fall is indeed the best time to enjoy Wellfleet with its spectacular weather and more relaxed pace.
